Overview: The Resonance Cosmos

Overview

The Resonance Cosmos is a fantasy worldbuilding project intended to support novels, tabletop roleplaying games, computer roleplaying games, and related adaptations.

The setting is built around the idea that reality is structured through resonance, pattern, energy, memory, and divine-metaphysical forces. Its strongest foundations currently lie in cosmology, divine hierarchy, magic-system design, and the Caeldon-facing peoples-and-places architecture.

The long-term aim is an open and internally coherent setting that can support multiple formats while staying causally grounded and easy to expand. This page is the main GitHub navigation hub: start with the quick links below, then use the reading paths or shelf dashboard depending on whether you want a guided route or a reference index.

AI assistance is used actively in this project to help research options, test structural ideas, draft and revise documents, and maintain consistency across the growing body of material. The project direction, canon choices, and final acceptance of changes remain deliberate setting-design decisions rather than automated output.

Core Premise

The universe is a finite bubble of Order suspended within the Nothing. Reality is not defined only by location, matter, or divine decree, but by the interaction of forces and patterns.

The setting currently rests on several major principles:

Medieval Era Premise

The first full setting version focuses on medieval Caeldon as an era of inherited systems under strain.

Its peoples and regions live inside old roads, elder ruins, divine categories, civilizational memories, species obligations, and uneven laws that still shape daily life. The central drama is not one world-ending crisis, but the ordinary and political work of belonging, passage, repair, memory, worship, survival, and power in a world built from older layers no one fully controls.

Version 1 aims to cover medieval Caeldon at a broad working-draft level before any one region receives book-depth treatment. Local focus regions such as The Greyford Reach remain useful test lenses for mixed-species contact, ruins, road law, and local setting usability, but they do not define the whole scope.

The broad synthesis for this focus era is Medieval Era Overview.
