Overview
This directory contains place-facing worldbuilding documents for The Resonance Cosmos.
Use this shelf for broad regions, subregions, notable sites, and later related geographic or strategic documents once their registry baselines are stable enough to support fuller treatment.
The places material on this shelf is centered on the first major Caeldon regional web and the earliest strategically or symbolically important sites inside it, while also beginning to name the first broader planetary anchors and site-level flashpoints beyond that web. For the medieval Version 1 working draft, the goal is a wider planetary cross-section at broad working-draft depth rather than a single-region treatment.
In practice, the place layer is organized around a layered early-Caeldon geography: an older planetary ladder of regional differentiation beneath the named map; early forest, mountain, basin, and underworld heartlands that now also support clearer baseline identity sequences for the peoples living in them; the regional interfaces where those worlds first become historically entangled; the mixed frontier zones where contact hardens into local custom around standing, remembrance, and corridor life; and the deep Roothollow-Stonewake threshold where catastrophe later turns geography into inherited grievance through sealing, darkening, deepening, parallel post-catastrophe branch formation, and later site conflict rather than in one abrupt jump. The currently detailed named map should therefore be read as one major cradle-web of Caeldon rather than as exhaustive planetary coverage.
The reusable design logic for region and site distinction, cradle-web reading, and geographic distribution is now documented separately in Overview: Frameworks and its linked framework pages so this overview can remain a clearer place entry point.
Current Shelves
- Overview: Regions: region-level shelf entry docs, especially for heartlands, interfaces, corridors, and conflict-bearing thresholds.
- Overview: Sites: site-level shelf entry docs, especially for concentrated symbolic or strategic flashpoints inside the wider historical field.
- Overview: Frameworks: reusable place-facing framework docs for region/site design, cradle-web logic, and geographic distribution.
